About Us
Supporting Mediators, Strengthening the Profession
Our Experience
We have been operating for over ten years and have supported hundreds of mediators across different jurisdictions, practice areas and stages of experience.
Our work has included:
-
Supporting individual mediators to build and grow their practices
-
Advising mediator networks and organisations
-
Promoting public understanding and awareness of mediation
-
Creating platforms and initiatives that improve visibility and access
We understand the realities mediators face, including uncertainty after qualification, inconsistent work, and the challenge of explaining mediation clearly and confidently to others.
Our Purpose
We are committed to:
-
Promoting mediation
-
Supporting mediators as professionals
-
Increasing confidence in mediation skills and practice
-
Strengthening the profession through ethical, thoughtful support
Everything we do is guided by respect for mediators, the profession and the people mediation serves.
Promoting Mediation Awareness
We are the founders and long-term organisers of International Mediation Awareness Week, an initiative created to raise awareness of mediation and its benefits worldwide.
This work reflects our broader commitment to:
-
Increasing public understanding of mediation
-
Supporting mediators collectively, not just individually
-
Strengthening confidence in mediation as a professional discipline
Our belief is simple: mediation grows when mediators are supported and understood.
How We Support Mediators
Our work with mediators is practical, thoughtful and long-term.
We support mediators to:
-
Increase visibility of their services in ethical, appropriate ways
-
Build confidence in describing what they do and how they help
-
Develop professional credibility over time
-
Think beyond a single pathway or narrow definition of practice
We actively encourage:
-
Co-mediation opportunities
-
Observation and learning from others
-
Collaboration rather than competition
-
Reflection and professional development
We recognise that confidence grows through experience, support and exposure, not pressure.
Thinking Beyond the Traditional Path
We are known for being creative thinkers.
We help mediators:
-
Think differently about how their training can be applied
-
Explore varied and non-traditional opportunities
-
Integrate mediation skills into wider professional roles
-
Build practices that fit their strengths, values and circumstances
There is no single “right” way to practise as a mediator. We help mediators find their way.
Long-Term Practice Building
We strongly believe that mediation practice is built over time.
Our approach emphasises:
-
Planning for long-term growth, not short-term visibility
-
Building confidence gradually
-
Developing sustainable, realistic practices
-
Avoiding burnout and unrealistic expectations
We work with mediators to think in years, not weeks.
Working With Us
We work with mediators who value professionalism, reflection and long-term thinking.
Whether you are newly qualified, building confidence, or seeking to grow an established practice, our role is to support you thoughtfully and realistically.
The best place to start is a conversation.
Who We Are
The Dispute Resolution Agency exists to support mediators as professionals.
For more than a decade, we have worked alongside mediators at every stage of practice, helping them build confidence, increase visibility and develop sustainable mediation work. Our focus has always been on strengthening the profession by supporting the people within it.
We are dedicated to promoting mediation, supporting ethical practice, and helping mediators translate their training into real-world, professional confidence.
The Dispute Resolution Agency is a brand of Mediator Network Ltd. We also operate DRA.Directory, an independent mediator directory designed to support mediator visibility and public access, operating alongside the Mediation Agency.
Each part of our work has a clear role, with transparency and professional boundaries at its core.
